Sam is always baffled that the fashion in Faron is about 10 years behind the rest of the world.
About 1/3 of the high schoolers were rocken weird batman shirts, everyone in flared jeans with skater shoes, bedazzled shirts and really really horrible hair, gross colors.
It was a sight to see.
It had been four years since we had gone down to Peach days.
And it was comical that it was the exact same crew as four years ago.
But instead of Lance, we switched him out for Mike Dodge, and then added a few Dewys to the mix.
The day went as follows:
Fireman breakfast: As we waited for them to cook our hash browns we watched as one old fireman struggled to start the flame of the grill “What do these guys do all day?"
Parade: Same line up of trucks, same candy, Willy still stood and sang Smoky the Bear.
SoapBox Durby: We all found a spot in the shade with free hotdogs and watched the races, right next to the ambulance where the Medics would get on the megaphone and heckle people as they walked in front of them. Two car collision, one car spinning out of control.
Every year we dream about making a car, and then we go home and forget.
Horse races: Nap time for us, two years ago Feron got a new mayor and she took out all the Alcohol at the concession stands, and the locals are livid. Grandma says that “that’s not going to stop them from drinking it”
So true grandma, just let us have our alcohol. So we hung out at the trailer, made some soup, took community naps on the grass. Played with the drone.
Rodeo: This year they cut it short. And they deiced not to use horses, they just did barrel races on ATVs it was so comical, so red reck. One girl, she must have been three attempted to race and just did one big circle around the arena and everyone kept yelling at her to turn.
Demolition Durby: Always a good show.
Dance: It is amazing how the kids down there can turn every song (Every Song) Into a line dance. So we blew them away, they didn’t know how to handle us on the dance floor. Some would watch in awe, others would get mad we were center of attention. At one point Casey tried to fight a 18 year old tough guy who was yelling at us for messing up his dance moves, (AKA he was trying to stand and look cool) we all stood back and Sam demanded him to dance. “You wanted to dance! DANCE! Let’s see it” . . . . Poor kid.
Max started talking with a kid at the gas station who liked his shirt so Max took off his shirt right there and swapped shirts with him.
Willy brought his guitar so he could sing a few songs to Grandma, it was so nice to sit and listen to him at the end of a long day.
Whitney Bright Backgammon and sat with Mary on the porch late at night and played.
Tilly was a pure joy talking a million miles a minute and going crazy about camping.
Sam fed moths to the spiders while Casey freaked out.
Doser just got a facelift so to prevent him from scratching his

And Grandma is always happy to see us, it breaks her heart when we leave.
She is such a crazy lady, and it is a treat to be in her cozy little home.
Makes me want to buy a trailer home. Just as a summer home, they are so dang fun.
