I have a hot spring on my list, it would be a journey to find it, it is on privet property and there is no clear direction on how to get to it. I thought this would be the weekend, but after the AIRBNB feel through I decided to check out this hot spring. Landon is always down for an adventure, always, he had no idea what we were doing/where we were going and he was in. And as we drive down he just runs his mouth spilling out all the information he has been in his room learning from youtube.
It was quite the drive, and we arrived while the sun was still hanging in the blue blue sky.
The place is a Hippie compund, with about 10 buses out front you can rent for the night (they were shut down for the cold season) and this house that has been converted into changing rooms and a little stage to play music and a large woodturning stove to heat the place. Hippie as hell, crazy beautiful.
The lower pot is made of cement, and could maybe fit 60 people, just a big open pool framed by the red rock. Then if you hike up the hill you find these bath tubs, one here, and one over there that have been set up to let the hot water come in and then slowly drain out, keeping a steady flow of hot water.
To our luck we found three tubs right next to each other, and that was it, we got in and watched the sun set, the stars appear and the sky blacken. We lit some candles, made new years resolutions, sang songs, took off all our clothes and had a magic night.
Finding our way out through the snow wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was more comical to climb down a muddy/snowy mountain in the dark soaking wet. And at one point I make the mistake of sitting my bear butt on a iron rod that was outside the lower pool, my but froze right to it and now my backside has a burn that is quite uncomfortable today.
We felt like cowboys.
Happy Nude Year!
