Alright you Cardinal fans!

The poor little City Creek Ward had no idea what they were in for last Tuesday night.

Ward softball (our poor ward hasn't won a game yet) we are strong in numbers but weak in spirit.

Last Tuesday we had a little BBQ before the game started, and that's all I can remember of normal life, at that point Drew unveiled speakers to blast Whitney Houston singing our National Anthem.

The players, where confused and excited as the stood on the field with their hand over their heart while they tried to make sense of why at a ward softball game the national anthem was playing.

After that is was face paint and more face paint, music and more music.
Taylor Crane was deemed the announcer: "All right you Cardinal fans, Save your ticket after the game for two dollars off at Carls Jr"
"Alright you Cardinal fans, make your way down to strut your stuff and show us your best 'Cardinal'"
"That catch was sponsored by Morgan Jewelers, come on in and check out our new selection"

Ballon hats were being made and passed around, popcorn was being walked up and down the bleachers "Get your popcooooorn!!"
(The 15 foot long bleachers that have no more then four rows)

Mike Peck brought his snare drum and would give a mighty drum roll as the player hit the ball.

Then it was T-shirt time (Drew had gone to DI and bought red shirts and had rolled them up tight and tied them with red yarn) And Kylie ran in front of the bleachers throwing them at the crowd.

The bishop left the game and retuned with a red shirt.
People must have been texting friends to come because the crowed was growing and growing.

While the other team had three people at most in their bleachers. Sitting there wide-eyed at the party.

Mason had his rubber cardinal mask, there was a massive brass 'home run' bell.

Beach boys played and we all did the wave.
Neil Diamond played and we all sang Sweet Caroline in the 9th inning.

We were dunk on music and the summer sunset, it was wild and free.
And there was not a soul who didn't jump in and have fun.
Even the wall flower in flannel jumped up and danced some Beyonce right next to Drew.

And when we won it was our wonderful little bearded Elders Quorum President who caught the fly ball that caused the third out and won the game.
We was lifted up and carried off the field.

After we all gathered for a picture, on the field, "We are the Champions" By the one and only Queen was blaring over all the noise.

And Drew tells Aaron to 'stall!' returning shortly with massive wedding sparklers that we lit up for the picture.
It was the greatest moment of all of our lives.

And when the picture was done and the sparklers were still alive we all ran the bace line cheering.

Ward softball.
No one saw the party coming.
And now whether Drew likes it or not, he has gained a reputation, it is hard not to love him.
