Herding cattle when he was 15, kinda cowboy.
And as I found myself in Boulder this weekend I asked the gas station attendet if he knew any Ormonds, he then pointed to a coner of the gas station and said that Burns Ormond (my Grandpa's brother) use to sit in that chair, then showed me the painting that hung above the chair of Burns.
Three hours away from home in a quaint dirt town, finding a bit of my past.
After hiking all day we stopped at a gift shop and the lady running the place knew Burns too, she had his hat and a pair of his old boots sitting on display.
"Burns was kind of a legend" RaVoe said when I called and told her "He was like the last REAL cowboy"
So neat. . it was an awesome thing to stumble upon. .
The rest of the little trip was alright too, did some camping, hiked the slots, ate some rattlesnake (not a joke)
Drove for hours with the windows down spitting sunflower seeds, harassing cows and letting dust fill the car.
It was a little trip that had 'Summer' and 'Freedom' written all over it. Did my soul good.
